Texas Elite adidas Premier won the adidas Uprising Gauntlet Gold bracket for the second year in a row, defeating the Western PA Bruins, 60-47 in the final.
They got together starting in March and grew and continued to build towards their pinnacle at the end of July.
In June they had some injuries that required them to make some adjustment to the roster, but they continued to buy into the system and work hard on their defense and offensive efficiencies.
Jayden Perez (San Diego State commit) and
Trinity Bell, we wish you the best bouncing back from injury.
Early July was both challenging and successful. Premier dropped a couple of hotly contested games in Frisco, but it would prove to be the seasoning that they needed for a final run during the second half of July. They had a 9-1 record to finish the club season.
The team really jelled at the final event of the season: the adidas Uprising Summer Championships in Emerson, GA, ultimately bringing home the trophy again.
"Dear Texas Elite Family:
I was really happy with the development of our team this past season. I am very proud of each one of you for your performance on the court and for your character off the court.
Thank you. It has been my pleasure coaching you this season.
Every Single one of you played a role in our success. Our starting line-up consisting of
Lauren Fields, Gabbie McBride, Adryana Quezada, Zya Nugent, and Makayla Hutchinson provided the fire power and consistency we needed while
Madison Miller, Anna Moss and
Whitney Cox came off the bench to assist where ever needed on both ends to help us clinch the championship title.
For those of you (Madi and Anna) that have played your last year of club ball, I wish you nothing but the best at the next level.
For my class of 2019’s (and let’s not forget the young one in 2021
Ashtynne Marotte) I’m excited about next year and look forward to us staying together and building on what we accomplished in 2016 and 2017. Can everyone say '3peat' ? "
