Coach Fred’s passion for basketball and track started at a young age of 10 in his home town of St. Louis, Mo. He excelled in high school as sprinter in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 in Track and Field at Riverview High School.  He later continued on to Lincoln University on a music scholarship as a Jazz Performance Music Major.

Coach Fred started his mentoring of kids as the Worship Arts Director for one of the largest churches in Illinois.  After overseeing more than 1,000 kids in the Youth Ministry, Coach Fred realized he not only had a love for mentoring the youth but that he was also gifted in this area.

Shortly after moving back to Dallas, TX in 2011, Coach Fred started coaching and mentoring young athletes in the Upward Basketball Program for the Methodist Church.  Later in 2011 he established 2nd to None Basketball in order to improve the development of his young athletes on a larger scale. Since 2011 Coach Fred has grown from 2 PSA teams to now 7 teams full of highly competitive boys competing in some of the most competitive National tournaments.

In 2020 Coach Fred merged with Texas Elite to become Texas Elite 2nd II None. We are extremely excited to welcome him to our program.
